Okra… the food that keeps on giving
I bought another 10 pounds of fresh picked okra this morning. I spent a couple hours canning half of it and placed the other half in the fridge. We love okra pretty much any way we can get it and I probably will be putting more in the freezer before this season is over. It…

Baked apples anyone?

Simple meal of seasoning the pork with pepper, garlic, onion and a dash of salt. The green peas are drained…

Simple equals loads of flavor
I’ve gone the gamut of eating and preparing all kinds of food in my life time. From spicy to sauces, deep fat fried, and breaded. As I’ve aged and mellowed I’ve come to realize simple is best for great flavor and nutrition as well as keeping a healthy body. This earth is loaded with the…

Another year

Nutrition fast and delicious
I’ll never understand why people prefer packaged processed food over fresh home-cooked. I see absolutely no advantages and this comes from someone who raised and cooked regularly for a family of four. We had active schedules with band, cross country track, ballet, karate for the two children on top of simply living an active family…

Grill time!
Today has been pretty much a do nothing day. Not a bad thing. We slept in….. anything over 7.5 to 8 hours is sleeping in for me. Today I got 9 hours! Picked a few figs, then prepared breakfast while Randy got his morning shower. I’m almost finished with that large knit project and continued…
