I have worked on this particular throw for just under three months. It is a relaxing pattern of four different stitches so works up fairly quickly. I have a cousin that lives on a river in Florida that connects to the ocean nearby. She loves her home and would be classified a hobbit in one world and a Hufflepuff in another. She is completely satisfied puttering around her home cooking, baking and gardening.
She made mention to me in one of our many rambling phone call visits that no one had ever made her anything knitted. Although she lives in warm weather, she loves to cuddle under one of her many quilted throws while reading. So I decided to create a knitted throw to gift her when we head to her area soon on one of our holiday road trips. It will be a complete surprise and I can’t wait to hand it to her.
I chose her favorite colors of shades of green and blue which goes well with this pattern.

I didn’t even realize the pattern was perfect for my intended depiction of river, ocean and forest when I purchased it. There is a wave design and one that looks very much like pine needles.

I’m thrilled to have it finished in plenty of time to take with us on our trip. Also very happy with the end result being large enough to snuggle down into. So without further ado……..

The photo below is draped over one of our glider chairs.
