Fall has arrived

Normally we have warm weather near until winter and many times into mid January. This year hurricane Ian must have pushed milder weather into Alabama. I have to say it is a wonderful relief from the near no rain, humid high 90s we have endured this summer. There have been fall like blustery winds and breezes the last few days and looks like, while still no rain, temps will get no higher than mid 70s for the next several weeks. The trees are beginning to lose their leaves and all the beautiful flowers are shutting down. I’m actually looking forward to the color change and pray it is spectacular this season since there has been rain in abundance everywhere else other than our little mountaintop home. We are looking forward to a short retreat in Northern Georgia soon.

But for today we are enjoying a fall treat on our second story deck surrounded by oak and pig walnut trees whispering in the breeze.

I’ll wear shorts until I can’t😁. Once I change to jeans, we will be full on into winter and hunkered down until spring. The treat is a wonderful homemade Oat flour pumpkin bread and fresh ground Nicaraguan black coffee to take the chill off. We prefer the bread plain but there is an option in the recipe to make a glaze.

I’ll sign off and enjoy the peaceful nature sounds that surround us. Praying wonderful blessings for all on this day.
