My maternal grandmother passed away when I was 20 years old. I always loved her olive skin tone but had no clue why she, my mother and my uncle were blessed with it when I was left with very pale easily burned skin. Years later I found that there is a dabble of Mediterranean DNA running through my genes from her line but the Scot Irish overpowered it in the results of my much fairer complexion.
I do have a strong love of Mediterranean food which is very healthy for the body. While out on errands we had dinner at a Gyro Cafe Wednesday and it set off a craving for taziki sauce. I could literally douse it on everything. Well on a grocery run yesterday I was thrilled to find a traditional recipe taziki dip on sale for half price. At $2.50, I couldn’t purchase the ingredients for homemade at that price. So I bought a tub and planned around it for dinner tonight.
This store bought version was more thick dip consistency than runny as some homemade are to be used as a salad dressing so I improvised. While we had salad, I used a strawberry vinegarette dressing. The chicken was baked with a Mediterranean seasoning layered with Brussels sprouts and garlic cloves to soak up all that wonderful flavor.
The improvising was a good dollop of the taziki dip to be was eaten on Crunch Master chips! Delicious, healthy and satisfying my craving for this wonderful healthy sauce.

Of you don’t know what taziki sauce is, here is a Great Recipe. I’ll be adding this regularly to our diet.
Bon Appétit!
