Simple equals loads of flavor

I’ve gone the gamut of eating and preparing all kinds of food in my life time. From spicy to sauces, deep fat fried, and breaded. As I’ve aged and mellowed I’ve come to realize simple is best for great flavor and nutrition as well as keeping a healthy body. This earth is loaded with the best fruits, vegetables, seeds and meats one could ever ask for so why not relish in their natural flavors and nutrients.

One of our most favorite dishes is salad. The variety comes from all the different vegetables that can be used is near endless. Summer is the best time to get fresh vegetables in our area. So tonight I prepared a classic salad of Romain lettuce, carrots, celery, cucumber and juice filled red tomatoes. The variety came in dusting a good portion of Everything Bagel seasoning over it all along with a splash of Raspberry Vinaigrette and a side of those wonderfully crunchy Crunch Master crackers

Pork chops with garlic cloves roasted in the oven with a couple spoons of homemade spicy apple barbecue sauce while I fried up some fresh sweet yellow corn in the old trusty cast iron skillet simmering with butter, touch of salt and pepper to taste. This is our most favorite way to eat corn.

Loaded with flavor, heart healthy and delicious. Simple meals truly can not be topped.
