So I have always admitted I have strong OCD tenancies. I’m not OCD but yes the tendencies are there. That is not really a bad thing. I am comfortable with people that don’t have these tendencies and have no issues at all with my clutter loving friends. Just in my own house I need organized spaces to rest and be comfortable. I even have things I have collected for years such as fairy figurines and tea cups so it isn’t like I’m completely no clutter. In full disclosure I DID go through a couple of cleansing periods in my life.
The first was after a divorce from a 22 year marriage that nearly broke me. I had a massive yard sale to clear so many unwanted and unneeded things that had piled up during those years of raising two children. The second purge was after two years in our current home with my forever spouse when we were contemplating moving again. A realtor told us the house would present better uncluttered. My poor husband thought I was going to take HIM to the thrift store after the 3rd van full of stuff I carted off. Can’t believe we moved all that stuff the last time.
We decided to stay in the house after all that but I admit that less IS more! I love our decluttered lifestyle now. I’ve been working toward making the home as efficient and maintenance free as possible. I’ll write more about that later.
I have had in my mind to eventually organize the freezer contents so I can see how much more freezer space we need for a half beef. We want to purchase grass fed beef which is so much more nutritious and healthy than grain fed, hormone filled commercial beef. That will require purchase of a second freezer, which is fine. I just don’t want food getting tossed in and lost or pushed to back till it is no longer edible.

Part of today’s errand list was to purchase made in America Sterlite freezer bins. I found three sizes that were perfect and loaded up. I’m so very pleased with the end result.

The top two shelves are varied meat and fish. That will be moved to a second similar freezer once purchased to leave room for more vegetables and fruits. Now all I have to do is pull out a bin to retrieve a container or add more to the back of it.
This makes for a very happy me. I simply love organizing and having an efficient home.
