We haven’t had a fresh green salad in several days so this was a great night for one. All the traditionally used veggies of carrots, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, celery then added fresh sunflower seeds for something different. I’ve had several USA grown Haus avocados ripening the last couple days and sliced one of them for each of us.
The main meal consisted of more of that amazing Michigan grown asparagus with baked chicken. Again I bake the chicken on top of the asparagus so the juices can meld into the vegetables. All I added for seasoning was a good dousing of Everything bagel season to both the meat and asparagus. I would have added fresh peeled garlic cloves except we were headed to church right after our meal😇.
This meal can be cooked in about half an hour with the chicken baking while the salad is being prepared. Home cooked healthy goodness doesn’t have to be all day consuming. I pretty much mastered that technique the last few years before we retired due to an hour commute both ways to work everyday.

Water is our goto beverage for meals except for coffee with breakfast. The human body requires lots of water to function and stay healthy so this is an easy way to hydrate while not dulling the taste buds to the wonderful flavor of the meal.
