Memorial Day is set aside to remember and honor all those brave soldiers that gave all they had, including life, to protect America’s Freedom. They must never be forgotten. God rest their souls and bless their families and friends that have to move on through this life without them.
We always try to find and attend a memorial service and it ever fails to bring me to tears. This year we attended the service at Colonel Ola Lee Mize Patriots Park & Etowah County War Memorial. It was very moving. A veteran that was in the Battle of Ia Drang Valley of the Central Highlands of Vietnam spoke of his experience and the loss of his friends there. If you have seen the movie We Were Soldiers, that was the battle portrayed. Amazing Grace was played on bagpipes at the end of the service.
